Redhawks go 4-1


Miami RedHawk women take 1-2-3 in three events at Kenyon burying the Ladies 168-71.  Saturday’s meet in Gambier Ohio puts Miami up to a 4-1 season record. 
Miami’s  first 1-2-3 finish in the 50 freestyle set the pace for the meet.  Sophomore Bekka Westrick took Miami’s first place finish in the 50 free followed by sophomore Maddie Kete and freshmen Cynthia Donovon.  Sophomore Leah Thornton led the next 1-2-3 event in the 200 backstroke.  Thornton took first followed by sophomore Jenny Warmolts and senior Katherine Reinmann.  The 200 breaststroke added to the RedHawks dominance with senior Megan Brunn taking first followed by Kelsey Vehr and Stacie Clagg. 
Two Miami double event winners emerged from the meet, senior Miranda Kaltenborn and freshmen diver Nikki Craft.  Kaltenborn won both the 500 (5:07.23) freestyle and 1000 freestyle (10:25.69).  Craft took the one-meter (284.55) and the thee-meter (317.70) diving events. 
Miami also took first in the 200 freestyle with junior Chelsea Bruington clocking in 153.20.  Vehr won the 400 individual medley (4:31.76) and sophomore Maegan O’Connor won the 200 fly (2:03.94). 
The RedHawks also took first place in the two relay races, posting a time of 3:53.92 in the 400 medley and 3:33.06 in the 400 freestyle relay.
